Iway Cloud Containers
Today, many experts and analysts agree that the software container industry is growing and will continue to grow as it persistently supports the development of enterprises that want to take advantage of new technologies and platforms.
In addition, enterprises tested Kubernetes container orchestrator and Cloud Foundry PaaS platform in practice. They found that none of these projects covered the full scope of what they needed. There is some functional overlap between the two projects, but ultimately they serve complementary purposes and work towards the same goal. The same approaches are used that both projects share, making it easier for organizations to manage their entire cloud environment.
At InterWay, we want to bring more Cloud Foundry productivity to the modern infrastructure represented by Kubernetes. We're bringing the two platforms together, integrating them in a way that allows you to get the best of both worlds.
The goal is to provide an environment where programmers can quickly develop applications while IT operations can remain as flexible as needed.
The IwayCloud Platform solution in the form of IwayCloud Container Platform (ICP) with the extension of Kubernetes already offers many new possibilities so that Cloud Foundry is much more accessible to a whole range of new users and their requirements, for whom there were barriers to entry to the world of containers and PaaS platforms before unavailable.
Basic characteristics for IwayCloud Container Platform:
- ICP is built on the Cloud Foundry Container Runtime open source project
- The foundation of ICP - Cloud Foundry Container Runtime is certified by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation as part of the Kubernetes Software Conformance Certification program
- ICP uses the stable open source Kubernetes distribution.
- ICP enables a Kubernetes cluster in any cloud infrastructure, including vSphere, using Cloud Foundry BOSH: Deploy, Manage, Upgrade
- Work in containers is isolated by individual clusters and the use of network segmentation, which allows the deployment of multiple isolated clusters
- Automated deployment, scaling, patching and updating of all Kubernetes clusters online without downtime.
- ICP enables fast application of security patches.
- ICP supports high availability for applications and infrastructure, automates functionality checks
- ICP enables flexible deployment of Kubernetes privately "on-premise" using vSphere or in public clouds
- ICP leverages Cloud Foundry BOSH capabilities to ensure reliable and consistent operation
- Creating and deploying a Kubernetes cluster using the command line - CLI and API using BOSH as well as the entire technology line for the BOSH release.
- ICP includes in its configuration Harbor, which is a registry of container images, which allows, in addition to storing Docker container images, to scan them for possible security vulnerabilities
- ICP exposes and integrates services through the Open Service Boker API and the Kubernetes service catalog
- ICP is supported and developed by IWAY Cloud Platform Support (ICPS).
